Immigration Physicals

Applicant using Aurora's Immigration Physical service

Every applicant for a visa or a green card must undergo a physical examination by a doctor who has been approved through the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). In the United States, immigration medical exams are performed by licensed and experienced doctors called civil surgeons. Physicians who qualify as civil surgeons receive special and on-going immigration-oriented medical training and policy updates.

Generally, all applicants filing for adjustment of status to that of a lawful permanent resident must submit Form I-693 completed by a designated civil surgeon. Form I-693 is used to report the results of the above-mentioned immigration physical to the USCIS. This examination is required to establish that an applicant is not inadmissible to the United States on public health grounds.

This medical exam evaluates the health and well-being of the applicant and makes sure he or she is free of communicable and mental diseases that could possibly harm others around him or her.
