Aurora Health Care is proud to announce the stroke program at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee has received the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association's Target: Stroke recognition.  Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center joined the American Health Association/American Stroke Association's Stroke Honor Roll in May 2011, making it the first hospital in the state to achieve this recognition.

Aurora St. Luke's also earned the Get With The Guidelines Gold Plus Awards for Stroke and Heart Failure for 2013. The awards are designated by the american Heart Assocation/American Stroke Association and are earned by hospitals using the most up-to-date best practices, guidelines and recommendations for patient outcomes for stroke care.

What Is Target: Stroke?

Target: Stroke is a national quality improvement campaign of the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association designed to improve outcomes for ischemic stroke patients by helping hospitals achieve door-to-needle (DTN) times of 60 minutes or less. By participating in Target: Stroke, hospital teams can work towards eliminating delays in treating stroke patients, with the ultimate goal of saving lives and reducing long-term disability.
