Treatment for multiple sclerosisAt this time, MS is not curable, but recent progress in research has been encouraging. Several treatments are now available to help people manage symptoms, lessen the severity of the disease, and possibly slow its progression. Physical, occupational or speech therapy may be prescribed. Nutrition, exercise and vitamins can also help. A variety of medications are used to treat MS symptoms. For acute attacks, intravenous cortisone-like steroids may be prescribed to reduce inflammation of nerve fibers. For more information, visit Aurora's Multiple Sclerosis Center.
