Treatment for peripheral nerve disorders

Diagnosis is made by observation of symptoms. An electrical nerve conduction test or other diagnostic procedures may be performed to determine the cause and extent of the disorder.

Treatment varies greatly by the cause, location and extent of neuropathy. Treatment may include anti-inflammatory or pain medications, control of underlying causes such as diabetes, avoidance of pressure on nerves, splinting, physical therapy or surgery.
