Treatment for Parkinson's diseaseThere is no test for Parkinson's. Diagnosis is made through observation and a thorough physical examination. Treatment may involve medication, such as levodopa, as well as nutrition, exercise and relaxation therapy to minimize symptoms and maximize adaptation to the condition. Physical, occupational and speech therapy may be prescribed. There is no cure for Parkinson's, but surgical options to alleviate symptoms and improve functioning may include subthalamic deep brain stimulation.
