Spine program

Each year our team of specialists, nurses, therapists and physiatrists treats people suffering from a variety of spinal disorders, including:

  • Invertebral disc disorders
  • Low-back pain and spinal stenosis
  • Congenital disorders of the spine
  • Spinal tumors
  • Compression fractures of the spine

Our multi-disciplinary team begins with precise diagnosis to identify the source of pain or weakness. High Resolution MRI and CT are used as specialists manage the full spectrum of spinal disorders, including:

  • Degenerative spinal disorders (lumbar disc disease, lumbar stenosis, cervical disc disease, cervical myelopathy, rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis)
  • Spinal cord tumors (neurofibroma, schwannoma, ependymoma, meningioma, astrocytoma, hemangioblastoma)
  • Spinal cord vascular malformations (arteriovenous fistula, arteriovenous malformation)
  • Spinal cord trauma
  • Spinal cord malformations such as scoliosis and other complex deformities
  • Vertebral tumors (metastatic tumor, chordoma, osteoma, hemangioma, osteosarcoma)
  • Spinal infections
  • Disorders of cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine

Once properly diagnosed, many conditions can be managed with physical or occupational therapy and/or drug therapies.
