What's the difference between Ophthalmology and Optometry?

Ophthalmology deals with the science of the structure, functions, and diseases of the eye. Ophthalmologists receive additional training in all aspects of eye care including medical, surgical, and optical.

Optometry is concerned with examining the eye for defects and faults of refraction and with prescribing corrective lenses or eye exercises.
