Spine Orthopedics

Spine Orthopedic Surgery in Wisconsin and Northern Illinois

Nearly 80 percent of people will experience back pain at some point in their lives. Most back disorders are caused by a combination of trauma, poor posture, faulty body mechanics, stressful living and working habits, loss of flexibility and a general decline in physical fitness.

The spine orthopedic experts at Aurora Health Care have advanced training in spine conditions and can help you make informed decisions about your treatment. In as many as 90 percent of cases, your back pain can be significantly reduced without surgery. Our integrated care program includes early and precise diagnosis with an individually designed spine rehabilitation and pain management services plan.

Aurora Certified Spine Expert Program

Because spine orthopedic treatment other than surgery can be so effective, we rely heavily on our physical therapists to help you regain pain-free mobility and return to as normal a level of activity as possible. As a result, we developed the Aurora Certified Spine Expert Program to ensure our therapists are developing the expertise you deserve.

The program requires:

  • Minimum of five years of orthopedic experience
  • Minimum of 180 hours of continuing education focusing on spinal assessment, manual treatment skills and theory
  • Successful passing of a practice exam
  • Letters of recommendation
  • Level III Physical Therapist—most experienced staff level

When surgery is necessary, our surgeons, who are acknowledged leaders in the field of spine surgery, offer you comprehensive consultation and second opinion services along with the latest surgical techniques.
