Comprehensive Pain Program at Aurora West Allis Medical Center

An integrated approach to pain management that blends the best of current medical practice with more traditional healing arts

Aurora Health Care's Comprehensive Pain Program provides personalized management of a patient with persistent pain. We recognize the long-term disabling effects persistent pain can have on a patient's life. We understand that the emotional frustration frequently accompanying pain is as important to treat as the physical symptoms.

The benefit of a Comprehensive Pain Program will be improved performance of daily living activities at home, work, and in the community.  To meet the diverse and often complex needs of the patient, the Comprehensive Pain Program incorporates an interdisciplinary approach to pain management providing patients with treatments, lifestyle options, and coping strategies to manage their pain. These include:

  • Interventional anesthesiology
  • Physical therapy, occupational therapy and physiatry services
  • Behavioral health
  • Complementary medicine such as chiropractics, massage therapy and acupuncture
  • Social services, support groups, dietary, pharmacy and community resources

The Comprehensive Pain Program is an integrated approach to pain management that blends the best of current medical practice with more traditional healing arts. We encourage patients to keep their health care providers informed of all the modalities they use to bring their health into balance. We believe that good communication results in better and more cost effective care. Comprehensive Pain Program
