Joining Aurora Research Institute’s Patient-Centered Research in July 2013, Kurt leverages his entrepreneurial and strategic business experience to lead the Institute Business Services and ensure a sustainable, solvent research enterprise. Building upon Aurora’s strong research base that produces quality, compliant and “patient-centered” outcomes, Kurt’s passion for catalyzing innovation will lead to new opportunities to improve patient care and be an economic driver in the community. Kurt has broad experience in technology commercialization and intellectual property having worked with industry, academia and hundreds of high-impact start-ups, licensing dozens of technologies and being part of a New York-based, venture-backed firm making software to manage intellectual property portfolios for pharmaceutical companies.Administrative Assistant Senior

Administrative Assistant Senior

Amy manages contracts prior to signature to ensure deadlines are met. She is dedicated to reducing contract turnaround time and improving communication.

 

 

Clayton WengerClayton Wenger, JD, MBA

Research Attorney

A 2000 graduate of Marquette University, Clayton received his Juris Doctor in 2003 and his Master of Business Administration in 2009. Clayton joined Patient-Centered Research in 2007 and is currently the lead council for the Research Business Operations Office with a focus on building relationships with sponsor and principal investigators. His focus is ensuring fair reimbursement and protecting Aurora’s interests while always seeking to reduce contract turnaround time.

Deborah MamonDeborah Mamon

Manager Institute Business Services

Deborah Mamon is responsible for the overall business administration of the research and service programs of Patient-Centered Research. She previously supported research in other positions, including Business Analyst, Accountant and as a liaison to investigators in an academic setting. Her strong research background has led to a deep passion and belief in the importance of research.

Christina GonzalesCristina Gonzalez

Grant Specialist Sr. - Post Award

Cristina joined Aurora Health Care in January 2013 as a Post Award Specialist.  She has over 5 years of grant experience directly providing financial advisory services and management information to Principal Investigators (PIs), aiding them in monitoring their grant accounts, while adhering to the terms and conditions of the award.  Cristina has an MBA and in 2012 she completed a Graduate Accounting Certificate from University of Phoenix.

Sharon HirschSharon Hirsch, RN

Research Business Operations Specialist

Sharon has more than 20 years of experience as a nursing supervisor and clinical research coordinator. She joined Patient-Centered Research in 2001 and is the primary contract negotiator. She is currently also working on several research projects.

 

 

Scott KreisScott Kreis, MBA

Business Analyst Sr.

Scott’s role in Patient-Centered Research is to collaborate with key leadership and administer all business-related aspects of clinical trials and grant-funded research. He also serves as a facilitator for process improvement initiatives throughout the Aurora Research Institute. Prior to his role here at Aurora Health Care, Scott worked as both a Financial Analyst and a Clinic Operations Manager for a health care system in the Fox Valley. Scott is a two-time graduate from the University of Wisconsin, Oshkosh; receiving his Bachelor’s degree in business (finance major) in 2007 and his MBA (health care management emphasis) in 2011.

 

Jessica OlbrotJessica Olbrot

Research Business Operations Specialist

Jessica has worked in research for four years as both a research coordinator and in her current position of research business operations specialist. She is currently pursuing her master’s in public health. She has a broad range of expertise from pediatric oncology to budget preparation.

 


Angela SinnerAngela Sinner, MBA

Research Business Operations Specialist

Angela graduated from Arizona State University in 2003 and received her MBA in 2010 from Ottawa University. She joined Aurora in 2007 and has been a research business operations specialist since 2011.

 

 

Belinda WigginsBelinda Wiggins, MBA

Research Business Operations Specialist

Belinda is a two time graduate of University of Phoenix, earning her bachelor’s in 2006 and her MBA in 2008. Belinda joined Patient-Centered Research in 2007 and focuses on billing compliance.

 

 

Lee BanfiLee Banfi, MBA, CPA, CGMA, FHFMA

Sponsored Programs Specialist Senior

Supports contracting including sub-awards as well as pre- and post-award budgeting/accounting. Mr. Banfi has administrative experience in complex academic, clinical and research environments.

 

 

Research Analytics

 

Andy MarekAndy Marek

Manager, Research Analytics

Andy Marek manages the Research Analytics team. The team works collaboratively with Clinical Trials, Investigator-Initiated Research, physicians and outside organizations to leverage health data in order to answer research questions. It also works with departments and teams from across the organization to integrate data from Aurora’s non-relational databases and medical systems. With a background in programming, Mr. Marek has developed a number of data registries including PeriData.Net®, a perinatal database used by 91 hospitals across Wisconsin.

Before joining Aurora, Mr. Marek amassed significant experience developing database-driven online applications, working for both Metavante (now FIS) and Strong Financial. He graduated from University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, with a major in Management Information Systems and a minor in Computer Science. Curriculum Vitae (PDF, 116KB).

Carl KlehmCarl (John) Klehm

Data Warehouse Programmer Analyst

John Klehm earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) in software engineering, with an application domain in embedded systems. Mr. Klehm joined Aurora in May 2012 to assist with the ORBIT biorepository project’s data and software needs. He is currently working on enhancing the auditing process of ORBIT’s laboratory automation system.
