Dennis J. Baumgardner, MD
Director of Research, Aurora University of Wisconsin (UW) Medical Group
Dennis received his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and his medical degree from the University of Illinois – Urbana. He completed his specialty training at the University of Illinois - Rockford Family Practice Residency Program. Dr. Baumgardner is professor of Family Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He originally joined the St. Luke's (Aurora) Family Medicine Residency faculty in 1986 as assistant director, serving as obstetrics coordinator and research director; then residency director for seven years. He then served as associate chair and campus director for the University of Wisconsin Department of Family Medicine, Milwaukee Clinical Campus for five years. Dennis is now director of Research and Promotions for Aurora UW Medical Group, associate director for Health Services Research at the Center for Urban Population Health, and a chair of the Aurora Institutional Review Board.
Kiley A. Bernhard, MPH
Research Associate Senior, Center for Urban Population Health, Aurora UW Medical Group
Kiley received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities in 2009 and her Master of Public Health degree from Boston University in 2011. She joined Aurora’s team in 2011, collaborating with investigators, residents, students, health care providers in the planning of studies, conducting projects and disseminating of findings. She plays an integral role in the design, development, Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval, implementation and dissemination of the investigator initiated research studies of AUWMG faculty and resident physicians. She serves as a principal developer of research protocols, assists with data collection and analysis, and is significantly involved in abstract and/or manuscript writing. Kiley provides primary research support for the Departments of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Family Medicine and Internal Medicine, but promotes and strengthens research in departments throughout Aurora Sinai Medical Center (ASMC) and Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center (ASLMC).
