Theodore (Ted) H. Gertel, MD
A graduate of Harvard College and New York University
School of Medicine, Dr. Ted Gertel completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and
sports medicine fellowship at the University of Minnesota School of Medicine.
Specializing in the treatment of sports- and work-related injuries of the knee, shoulder, elbow, and ankle, Dr. Gertel employs arthroscopic surgery and other minimally invasive surgical procedures in his practice. He is known for his high success rate in the treatment of persistent, recurrent, or exceptionally severe cases of elbow tendonitis.
His research on the biomechanics of anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction was presented at an international scientific conference and published in American Journal of Sports Medicine.
In addition to his clinic duties, Dr. Gertel is chief of orthopaedic surgery at Aurora Sinai Medical Center, medical advisor for the Aurora Sports Medicine Institute and a clinical associate professor in the College of Heath Sciences at Marquette University. He has worked with professional, collegiate and high school teams throughout his career - currently, he is the team orthopaedic surgeon for the Marquette University Men's Basketball Team and Homestead High School athletics. Previously, he served as the head team physician for the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club.
On a personal note, Dr. Gertel has participated in the Ride To Cure Diabetes (105 mile bicycle ride in Death Valley, California) to raise funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

Gerard (Gerry) Adler, MD
A graduate of the
University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Grand Rapids Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program, Dr. Adler is board certified in
orthopaedic surgery with a special expertise in sports medicine. He received a subspecialty certificate in orthopaedic sports medicine
from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in 2007, scoring in the top 5% in the country. Dr. Adler performs cartilage
transplantation, joint replacements including anterior total hip, and specializes in arthroscopic reconstruction of knees, hips,
ankles and shoulders.
His interest in orthopedics and sports medicine stems from his personal involvement in sports, including college football. A member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy Association of North America, his research, and subsequent article, on the anterior cruciate ligament was published in the American Journal of Sports Medicine.
In addition to his role in Summit as medical director of Aurora Sports Medicine Institute and the Cartilage Center, Dr. Adler is chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee for the YMCA at Pabst Farms. In 2005, he travelled to New Zealand and Australia as part of an international sports medicine group.

Omar J. Darr, MD
A specialist in sports
medicine and arthroscopic surgery, Dr. Omar Darr strives to help people of all ages stay healthy and active.
Dr. Darr graduated cum laude from Tufts University, Massachusetts, where he played college football. After receiving his medical degree with honors from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, he completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at Loyola University Medical Center, Chicago. His fellowship in sports medicine and arthroscopic surgery is from the University of Rochester, New York, where he focused on the treatment of knee and shoulder conditions
In addition to a board certification in orthopedic surgery, he earned a subspecialty certificate in sports medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. A member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North America and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, Dr. Darr has special interests in ACL and meniscus tears in the knee, as well as shoulder labral tears and rotator cuff problems..
Currently, Dr. Darr is involved in teaching other orthopaedic surgeons advanced arthroscopic techniques at the Orthopaedic Learning Center, Chicago; he also serves as a reviewer for Arthroscopy: the Journal of Arthroscopy and Related Surgery. The team physician for Whitefish Bay High School Athletics, he is the medical director for Aurora Sports Medicine Institute in Grafton.
Away from the clinic, Dr. Darr enjoys sports and spending time with his wife and children.

Jonathon (Jon) C. Henry, MD
An orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Jon Henry received his medical degree from
the University of Wisconsin's School of Medicine followed by his orthopedic surgical training at University Hospital in Syracuse, NY.
Additionally, he holds a sports medicine fellowship from Ohio State University.
An active member of the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine, Dr. Henry has presented original research at various national meetings as well as published articles on a number of sports medicine related topics. He has provided sports medicine care for recreational, high school, major university, and semi-professional athletes and teams. Currently, he is the medical leader for Aurora BayCare Sports Medicine.
Dr. Henry's athletic background includes participation in varsity crew (rowing) while attending UW-Madison. He enjoys cross-country skiing, cycling and running.

Paul R. Miller, MD

An orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Paul Miller's practice emphasizes knee and shoulder issues. Relative to the knee, his special interests include ligament and ACL injuries, meniscus and cartilage transplantation, and joint resurfacing. In the shoulder, his focus is on arthroscopic repair of the rotator cuff, labrum and ligaments, as well as joint replacement and resurfacing.
After earning a mechanical engineering degree from Marquette University, Dr. Miller received his medical degree from the University of Chicago - Pritzker School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at Loyola University Medical Center; his advanced training includes a fellowship in sports medicine along with knee and shoulder reconstruction from the Cincinnati Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center. In addition to his schooling, he spent three years in the U.S. Army as chief of orthopaedic surgery.
Board certified in orthopaedic surgery with a sub-certification in orthopaedic sports medicine, Dr. Miller is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, and the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine. He currently serves as team physician for Germantown High School athletics and medical leader for Aurora Sports Medicine Institutes in Washington County.
Away from the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his family - including playing tennis, biking, swimming and running.

Mark T. Wichman, MD

Dr. Mark Wichman is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in advanced arthroscopic and minimally invasive techniques to repair and reconstruct the shoulder, knee, ankle, and elbow due to sports and work-related injuries.
Following graduation from the University of Wisconsin Medical School, Dr. Wichman completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at Northwestern University Medical School, and then a sports medicine fellowship at Southern California Orthopedic Institute, Los Angeles.
Actively involved in teaching colleagues advanced surgical procedures, he has been a faculty member at over 30 national meetings, including a panelist addressing Wisconsin's Worker's Compensation Program. Passionate in his desire to refine less-invasive surgical techniques to achieve better outcomes for his patients, he is involved in two clinical research projects that employ arthroscopic techniques for knee and shoulder repairs. In addition, his published writings include chapters for textbooks on knee and shoulder instability.
Since the 2002-2003 season, Dr. Wichman has been the team orthopaedic surgeon for the Milwaukee Admirals Hockey Club. For years, a fixture on the sidelines at high school sporting events, he has chosen to "retire" from high school football coverage to allow for more time to work with the Admirals, as well as play "spectator" for his three sons as they compete in sports. He currently serves as medical leader for Aurora Sports Medicine Institute in Wauwatosa.
Outside of the clinic, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three boys - skiing, playing basketball, sailing, golfing and scuba diving.
