Using our advanced motion capture and analysis equipment, we'll evaluate your stride and then design a training program to improve your running technique. Ideal for runners of all experience levels, the 45-minute, two-camera video analysis includes running mechanics, gait evaluation and performance recommendations.

Badgerland Striders' Partnership

The Aurora Sports Medicine Institute is the Official Sports Medicine Provider of the Badgerland Striders' Marathon Build-up Program. A training tool for all levels of marathon participants, from first-timers to elite, the weekly build-up program offers runners a measured, scenic route on Milwaukee's lakefront with manned water stations throughout the course. The Marathon Build-up Program begins the first Saturday in July and continues on through the last Saturday in September. Get dates, times, location and details on the Marathon Build-up Run Program.

Each week of the build-up runs, clinical staff members from the Aurora Sports Medicine Institute man the finish line to answer questions, as well as provide injury evaluations and treatment recommendations.

Meet Dr. Michael Gordon

Dr. GordonA Milwaukee native, Dr. Michael Gordon's practice specializes in sports medicine and the disorders of the shoulder, elbow, knee, and ankle. His medical trifecta includes an MD from Harvard Medical School, an orthopaedic surgery residency from the prestigious Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center in Chicago, and a fellowship in sports medicine from Boston's New England Baptist Hospital where he worked with the Boston Celtics. He is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and sports medicine by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery.

In addition to his role as team physician for the Milwaukee Bucks, he works with Marquette University varsity athletes covering all sports, as well as the students of Grafton High School. The Badgerland Striders – the 7th largest running organization in the country, have named him their "physician advisor."

Beyond his practice, Dr. Gordon is a clinical instructor in orthopaedic surgery for the Medical College of Wisconsin and Marquette University’s Department of Physician Assistant Studies. He has performed extensive research on the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and knee joint. In addition, his findings have been presented at national conferences and in medical literature.

An avid sports fan and participant, Dr. Gordon earned a varsity letter as a place kicker for the University of Pennsylvania football team, and recently completed his twelfth marathon - including Boston, Chicago, Milwaukee's Lakefront and Las Vegas. He was selected by The Business Journal as a member of Milwaukee's "Forty Under 40" Class of 2010. This honor recognizes the area's up-and-coming leaders who are making an impact in their professions and communities.
