Chaplain availability

Chaplains are on call 24 hours a day and are available in the hospital weekdays from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m.

Office

The Spiritual Care office is located on the third floor across from the elevators.

Meditation room

The chapel is also on the third floor about 35 feet from the elevators.

  • Communion on a daily basis per patient request.

  • No One Dies Alone Program
    Mission Statement: Through the efforts of AMC employees and volunteers, No One Dies Alone provides a gift to dying patients who would otherwise be alone. With the help of the care giving staff the volunteers will be able to offer the most valuable gift - presence.

    The basic function is that the compassionate companion volunteer will provide compassionate, active listening , and quiet time. They will also provide emotional and spiritual support to the patient. Other basic needs such as a warm blanket, holding the patients hand , reading to them will also be part of the compassionate companion responsibilities. Whatever will help the patient in this last journey the compassionate companion will try to assist them with obtaining so the patient can die with dignity and respect and not alone.

    This program was designed by a nurse named Sandra M. Clarke seeing the need , she went forth and the program was birthed helping others die with dignity and respect.

Special events

  • We offer a "Remembrance Ceremony" every six months for all the patients who have passed in the hospital or thru Aurora Visiting Nurse Association and the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center.
  • Each year we do a special "Blessing of the Hands" for our staff.
  • We offer a grief and bereavement group.
