Atrial fibrillation study

The purpose of this research study is to study heart rhythm after surgery and to show the Cardioblate system is safe and effective to treat AF. The (CURE-AF) and (CURE-AF Persistent) Studies Use Radio Frequency Energy for surgically treating Atrial Fibrillation during the MAZE procedure.

To participate in the CURE-AF and CURE-AF Persistent study you must:

  • Must have a documented history of persistent AF or permanent AF (cardioversion failure)
  • Must need open heart surgery other than the MAZE procedure Greater than or equal to 18 years of age
  • Must be able to take the anticoagulant warfarin (Coumadin)
