Study for Women with Breast Cancer 
(RTOG 0413 NSABP B-39)

The purpose of this study is to see if partial breast irradiation is as good as or better than whole breast irradiation in keeping cancer from coming back in the breast.

To participate in this study you must:

  • Have had a lumpectomy (partial mastectomy) to remove the cancer
  • Have been diagnosed with an early stage breast cancer (Stage 0, I, or II)
