Treating Children to Prevent Exacerbations of Asthma

We are conducting a new clinical trial to see if children with mild asthma can use inhaled steroids only when they need to instead of everyday.

Participants must:

  • Be between the ages of 6 and 17
  • Have a diagnosis of asthma that is under good control

This study includes:

  1. 12 months participation, including 9 clinic visits at Aurora Sianai medical center
  2. Physical exam and breathing test at no cost
  3. Asthma medication at no cost
  4. completing daily diary cards and peak flow monitoring
  5. payment for time and travel

The childhood Asthma Research & Education (CARE) Network is leading this study.

Local study Investigator, Elizabeth Bade, MD
