Early Lung Cancer Screening Study (I-ELCAP)Early detection can save your life, or the life of someone you love.Consider participating in the International Early Lung Cancer Action Program (IELCAP) study. For Your information: Lung cancer is among the most preventable cancers, as tobacco use is responsible for the majority of the lung cancer cases. If detected early and surgically removed, lung cancer has a cure rate of nearly 70%. Without early treatment the long-term survival rate for lung cancer is 15%.
Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center Lung Cancer Program is now offering a lung screening study using Computed Tomography. Individuals must meet certain criteria and have had no prior history of cancer.
