Dr. Rizvi brings significant experience in molecular biology, epigenetics, and fibroblast biology and cardiometabolic disease to Aurora Research Institute’s Center for Integrative Research on Cardiovascular Aging (CIRCA) bed to bench research program. His current translational research focuses on better understanding of molecular mechanisms of aging associated cardiac fibrosis in atrial fibrillation and heart failure, repurposing drugs to treat cardiac fibrosis and discovery of noninvasive biomarkers for prognosis and potential therapy of atrial fibrillation and heart failure.  He has also been involved in microRNA control of signal transduction in cardiac fibrosis and the discovery of circulating miRNA as noninvasive biomarker that will help identify patients at risk of postoperative complications, such as atrial fibrillation, heart failure and heart failure with a preserved ejection fraction.
