National Cancer Institute Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP)

The Aurora Difference

More Cancer Treatment Options Than Ever Before

At Aurora Health Care, you have options for cancer treatment. Our participation in a prestigious cancer research network has expanded the number of treatments we offer through clinical trials.

Improving Care Through Respected Cancer Research Networks

We offer access to leading-edge cancer care without you having to leave your community. We are one of 32 programs in the country participating in a prestigious cancer research network, National Cancer Institute Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP).

Highlights of our program include:

  • Award-winning care: When you participate in clinical trials at Aurora, you receive care from cancer experts. The American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer has recognized our program with an Outstanding Achievement Award. Fewer than one in five programs nationwide achieves this distinction. • Extensive experience with cancer clinical trials: Aurora has been offering best-in-class care through cancer clinical trials for years. Our history of clinical trial participation helps each patient achieve the best possible results. In fact, we are working at a national level to shape clinical trial standards through leadership in oncology (cancer) professional societies. Learn more about cancer clinical trials.
  • Commitment to safety: Your well-being and peace of mind are a top priority. Our clinical research coordinators assure your safety throughout your clinical trial participation. Coordinators provide one-on-one support, including help scheduling your appointments and answers to any questions you may have. Find out more: clinical trials participant information.

Our Research

Cancer Research and Clinical Trials

Our participation in NCORP is helping us extend the reach of our cancer research. We offer more than 50 NCORP trials covering all aspects of cancer care.

NCORP clinical trials focus on:

  • Improving cancer screening and early cancer detection rates;
  • Personalizing cancer treatments based on the genetic makeup of the tumor (precision medicine);
  • Conducting quality of life studies; and
  • Evaluating the effectiveness of treatments for precancerous growths.

Vaccine Update

We’re vaccinating anyone in Illinois and Wisconsin who’s 16 and older – whether you’re our patient or not – with the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines. We’ve paused use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine. See why.
