Advocates of Ozaukee County

Advocates of Ozaukee County is an agency that provides services for those who may be experiencing domestic or sexual violence.  With the help of a Better Together Fund grant, they will further train crisis counselors, social workers and advocates to better assist the victims of domestic and sexual violence in Ozaukee County.

Association for the Prevention of Family Violence

APFV provides free, confidential services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence and stalking in Walworth County. This grant will help APFV expand domestic violence and sexual assault advocacy services for two at-risk populations that are currently being underserved in Walworth County – teens and elders.

Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin

Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin is a non-profit, human services agency that protects, heals and cares for the children and families of Northeast Wisconsin.  This grant will help them add a crisis counselor to the organization and to provide additional counseling services to victims of sexual assault in Brown County.

Friends of Abused Families

Friends of Abused Families empowers and provides safety to those affected by domestic and sexual violence through support services and prevention education in Washington County. Using a Better Together Fund grant will help them increase the capacity of the Transitional Living Program for victims of perpetrator violence.

HELP of Door County

Help of Door County's mission is to eliminate domestic abuse through prevention and intervention services and to advocate for social change. This grant will help to expand the safe shelter program, allowing more families to stay in a safe shelter for extended periods of time.

Hmong American Women's Association

HAWA advocates for social justice within the Hmong Community through collective action.  The grant supports the Young Leaders Anti-Violence Program in increasing community awareness around gender-based violence.

Jewish Family Services

JFS provides social services in greater Milwaukee for individuals, families and children of every age, race, religion, income, or lifestyle. This grant will provide mental health and trauma-related counseling sessions to adults who are survivors of sexual assault and/or domestic violence.

Lutheran Social Services of Wisconsin & Upper Michigan

LSS of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan provides a wide range of social services to people of all faiths and backgrounds. Using the Better Together Fund grant, LSS will further expand sexual assault programming to help meet the growing needs of those in the 90 counties it serves.

Marquette University

Marquette University is a Catholic and Jesuit university located near the heart of downtown Milwaukee, Wis., that offers a comprehensive range of majors in 11 nationally and internationally recognized colleges and schools. The university will use the grant to support the Creating a Safe Campus Environment program which works to prevent sexual violence and support survivors.

Meta House

Meta House ends the generational cycle of addiction by healing women and strengthening families.  This grant will help Meta House provide much needed in-depth trauma services and advocacy.

Milwaukee LGBT Community Center

The Milwaukee LGBT Community Center is dedicated to serving the needs of LGBTQ people and to making the Greater Milwaukee area safer and more inclusive.  This grant will help expand sexual assault and domestic violence advocacy services to the underserved population of LGBT-identified individuals in the Milwaukee area.

Near West Side Partners

Near West Side Partners strives to make Milwaukee's Near West Side an even better place to live, work and play. The Better Together Fund grant will help  staff the PARC – Promoting Assets and Reducing Crime – Initiative, which will help address sexual assault violence in the Near West Side neighborhood of Milwaukee.

Pathfinders

Pathfinders envisions a community where every youth has the opportunity to live a safe, healthy, and successful life.  Pathfinders will use this grant to increase and improve sexual assault advocacy service delivery and capacity to underserved populations.

Reach Counseling

Reach Counseling Services, Inc. is a state certified outpatient mental health clinic serving the Tri-County Region of WI and the sexual assault service providing agency for Winnebago County.  Using the Better Together Fund grant, Reach Counseling will expand support and services to victims of sex-trafficking.

Safe Harbor

Safe Harbor provides prevention education, crisis intervention,  and ongoing outreach services to empower individuals, families and the community to live lives free of domestic abuse and sexual assault.  The grant will be used to increase capacity to serve victims of domestic and sexual abuse.

Sojourner Family Peace Center

Sojourner Family Peace Center provides education, advocacy and resources to keep families safe from domestic violence. This grant will help with construction costs for the new facility and to provide a specially-trained sexual assault nurse and counselor on site at the facility for the next five years.

University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Foundation

UW-GB Foundation works to advance the mission and service of the University through the acquisition of philanthropic support essential for creating a margin of excellence for all University activities.  Using the Better Together Fund grant, the university will develop the Relationship and Sexual Violence Program, which will provide education around the topic of sexual violence.

University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee

As the most diverse institution in the University of Wisconsin System, UWM is a learning destination for more than 25,000 students.  This grant will be use to create a comprehensive approach to sexual violence on campus – increasing awareness of sexual violence, enhancing prevention and expanding bystander education.

University of Wisconsin-Parkside

UW-Parkside is one of 13 four-year institutions within the University of Wisconsin System located in Kenosha County. This grant will be used to develop a collaboration between UW-Parkside, Carthage College, Gateway Technical College-Kenosha Campus, and Women and Children's Horizons, Inc., which will then create and provide a consistent, cohesive approach to sexual violence awareness and victim services.

Walworth County Alliance for Children

The Walworth County Alliance for Children is dedicated to the belief that all children are entitled to a life free of violence, abuse and neglect.  Using the Better Together Fund grant, WCAC will expand the Walworth County multi-jurisdictional sexual response unit.

Women and Children's Horizons

WCH advocates for victims of sexual and domestic violence/abuse. This grant will support programs designed to assist victims of domestic and/or sexual violence in Kenosha county.

Women's Center

The mission of The Women’s Center is to provide safety, shelter, and support to women and their families affected by domestic violence, sexual assault and abuse, and to facilitate their development. The grant will support collaborative efforts with The Child Advocacy Center of Waukesha County and to help increase staff counseling capacity.

Women's Resource Center of Racine

Women’s Resource Center is a trauma informed care organization that provides individually tailored services to help victims of domestic violence heal from the wounds of abuse and achieve safety and self-sufficiency for a lifetime. This grant will support the expansion of emergency shelter services in the community.
