Visitor Information &Amenities

Visiting Hours

We offer a flexible visitors policy. Patients may determine when friends and family visit.

Plenty of parking is available. Parking assistance is available Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the main hospital atrium entrance.

The Greenbrier Café is located on the first floor and offers hot and cold food, soups, a salad bar, beverages and desserts.
  • Open daily, 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to midnight
  • Main entrée features are available for breakfast 7 to 10 a.m.
  • Lunch is served 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
  • Dinner is served 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., and grill and sandwiches are available 7:30 p.m. to midnight.
Next to the Greenbrier Café is our vending area, which is open 24 hours a day. This area has a variety of foods, snacks and beverages, and a microwave you are welcome to use.
For any questions about the Greenbrier Café, please call extension 3209.

Our hospital discharge time is 11 a.m. Whenever possible, we ask that you make arrangements to leave by this time once you are discharged by the doctor. This lets us prepare your room for other patients. Our staff can help you and your family make arrangements for discharge.

Emergency Drills

For your safety, the hospital conducts routine safety drills. You may see flashing lights or hear alarms or announcements that signal an emergency drill. During these drills, your door may be closed. Please stay in your room unless told otherwise by the nursing staff.

Family Lounges

Next to our second-, third- and fourth-floor Medical/Surgical units are family lounges. Each lounge has a kitchenette with a microwave and refrigerator, a small library and internet access. These lounges are open 24 hours a day.

Lost & Found

If you misplace an item during your time with us, please contact our security department at extension 3190. If an item is found after you leave, we will contact you about returning the item.

Nurse Call

You can call for a nurse’s help in a few different ways. There is a white box with a reddish-orange nurse call button placed at the bedside. There is also a nurse call button on the inside and outside of the bed rails. In the bathroom, emergency call buttons are located in the tub/shower area and near the toilet.

Overnight Accommodations

We offer 22 private, hotel-like rooms available for rent for patients and their families and friends. These rooms are located on the fifth floor of the hospital. The cost is $62 per night. Our room charges are exempted from any taxes, as the rooms are only available to patients and their families and friends.

Depending on availability, you may choose between rooms with 1 king-sized bed or 2 queen-sized beds. We ask that no more than 5 people in one room stay overnight. Many of the rooms have a microwave and a refrigerator. If you are hoping for these appliances, please request them when you make your reservation. Laundry facilities (washer and dryer) are available, as well as an iron and ironing board. There is no limit on local telephone calls (and no charge). However, we ask that you use a calling card (or call collect) for all long-distance telephone calls. All of the rooms are nonsmoking.

You may reserve your room(s) by calling 920-288-3250 or toll-free 888-211-8866 and asking for Family Accommodations. Typically, room availability is not an issue, but we recommend making a reservation.

For the convenience of you and your visitors, we offer assistance with vehicle parking. The service is available Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the main hospital atrium entrance.

Plenty of surface parking is available. We also offer a separate entrance with adjacent parking for people receiving outpatient cancer and rehabilitation therapy, as well as a separate entrance for inpatients and their family members.

If you’re staying at an Aurora Medical Center for treatment, your dog can be brought in to visit with the permission of your care provider. Typically, dogs are the only pets allowed to visit, but you may ask your provider about other pets — the decision to allow other visiting pets is made on a case-by-case basis.

Ask your provider for details.

Room Temperature

All of our inpatient rooms have individual climate controls for your comfort. Please ask your nurse for assistance.

Smoke-Free Environment

Aurora BayCare is a smoke-free campus. Smoking is prohibited in the building and on the grounds. Smoking is only allowed in personally owned vehicles.

Patient smoking will be permitted only in rare instances when accompanied by a written doctor’s order.

Sound Machines

The inpatient units at Aurora BayCare have sound machines available for patient use. These machines create soothing, natural sounds to help mask unwanted noise that may interfere with sleep, rest and healing. If you’re interested, please ask your nurse.

Spiritual Care

Chaplains are available at all times to discuss your spiritual or emotional concerns. Chaplains will also assist you in contacting your house of worship for sacramental needs or a visit from your own clergy. You may request a chaplain at any time by speaking to your nurse or calling 920-288-3094 to leave a message.

The Interfaith Chapel, located on the first floor between the Inpatient Reception area and the Main Lobby, is open for use at all times for prayer.
