How Much Screen Time Can Harm Children? [Video]

These days, screens are everywhere — your phone, computer, TV set, tablet. Maybe even your watch or refrigerator! They can be useful, informative tools.

But, if you have children, you should know how much time spent with screens is appropriate for developing minds. Too much screen time can be harmful for youngsters.

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has developed recommendations for how much screen time will meet children’s health, education and entertainment needs — depending on their age.

In this video, Dr. Kevin Dahlman, medical director for Aurora Children’s Health, discusses the AAP’s screen-time recommendations and what might be right for your children.
