Overview

An aneurysm happens when your artery bulges or enlarges abnormally due to damage or weakness in the wall of a blood vessel. 

There are several different types of aneurysms, including:


Many aneurysms don’t have symptoms until they’re large or starting to rupture. Often, an aneurysm is found if you have another problem that requires a test such as a chest X-ray, ultrasound or CT scan.

Your doctor will discuss treatment options and which one is best for you. If you have an abdominal aortic aneurysm, we’ll determine if you’re a candidate for a custom-made stent graft. Our Vascular Center is one of the few places in the country specially trained to insert this device. It is a less-invasive option to heart surgery.
