Our Cardiothoracic Surgery Program treats people who have cardiovascular disease and need heart (cardiac) or chest (thoracic) surgery. Evidence-based practice and state-of-the-art technology helps us provide the best care. We work together with cardiovascular services and other disciplines to determine what your risk is for certain cardiothoracic procedures and what care is right for you. We make sure all necessary precautions are taken and all options explored.

At the Cardiothoracic Surgery Program, we have a multidisciplinary team of experts, including anesthesiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, cardiac rehab therapists, certified heart-lung machine operators (perfusionists), certified physician assistants, dieticians, enhanced intensive care unit (E-ICU) specialists, intensivists (physicians who direct and provide medical care in ICUs), nurse clinicians and nurse practitioners, pastoral care providers and quality managers.
