Physical Therapy

Helping You Get Back to Peak Performance

Overview

What Is Physical Therapy?

Physical therapy uses strength and range of motion exercises to help you recover from an injury or surgery. Physical therapy usually takes place a few times a week over the course of several weeks.

In many cases, physical therapy as a first line of treatment can help athletes and active adults delay or even avoid surgery altogether.

The Aurora Difference

Physical Therapy Care Coordination

Our physical therapists work closely with your orthopedic and sports medicine doctors to monitor your progress and recovery. Our goal is to help you get back to peak performance levels as quickly as possible.

In addition to physical therapy, your doctor may recommend additional treatments that include:

Our sports medicine and rehabilitation doctors work closely with integrative care specialists such as chiropractors and acupuncturists to tailor care to your needs.

Convenient Physical Therapy Treatment

We have a large number of physical therapists located throughout Wisconsin, making it easy to get physical therapy close to home. We have physical therapists trained in orthopedics, so you can be sure you are getting the right care for your injury.

Advanced Techniques & Technology to Aid Recovery

Our physical therapists use the latest techniques and technology to help you recover faster. For example, some physical therapy locations feature the AlterG® anti-gravity treadmill, which helps athletes safely increase their activity level during recovery.

The AlterG treadmill allows you to walk or run while an inflatable bubble supports your weight. Our specialists adjust the amount of weight your legs carry, so you can slowly readjust to walking or running after treatment.
