Dr. Kassam has been recognized globally for establishing technological advancements in complex skull-base surgery and minimally invasive approaches. He has pioneered a number of revolutionary procedures, including the Six Pillars Approach for parafascicular surgery of the white matter. In addition, Dr. Kassam has performed many of the world's groundbreaking procedures in the field of endoscopic nasal approach (EEA), which allows for skull-base brain tumors and lesions to be removed through the nose. He works closely with scientists, engineers, clinicians and cell biologists to develop the next wave of neurological innovation to define novel therapies for tomorrow. Dr. Kassam is Vice President of the Neuroscience Clinical Systems program at Aurora Health Care and leads the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII) at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center. ANII brings together a multidisciplinary team of renowned physicians, surgeons and scientists under one roof to deliver leading-edge neurological care.
