Dr. Jasbir Sra, MD, FACC, is an internationally recognized electrophysiologist known for setting a new standard in the treatment of heart rhythm disorders. He was the first U.S. clinical investigator to implant an atrial defibrillator. He also performed the first successful epicardial ablation of atrial fibrillation in the U.S. and implanted the first defibrillator in the Indian subcontinent. He has been listed in the Best Doctors in America.
Author of over 100 abstracts, Dr. Sra has published more than 60 original manuscripts and 50 reviews or book chapters, including landmark articles in The New England Journal of Medicine, Journal of the American College of Cardiology and Circulation, and the Journal of the American Heart Association. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology and Heart Rhythm society and a member of the North American Society of Pacing and Electrophysiology. He holds board certification in internal medicine, cardiovascular diseases and clinical cardiac electrophysiology; and is currently clinical professor of medicine at the University of Wisconsin Medical School Milwaukee Clinical Campus and director of the Clinical and Research Electrophysiology Laboratory at Aurora Sinai Medical Center.
Dr. Sra also lectures extensively in the U.S. and abroad. His current interests include developing treatment options for complex arrhythmias, such as atrial fibrillation.
