Dr. Tjoe is a fellowship-trained surgeon who specializes in breast disease. She dedicates her practice to the care of women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer and those who have a high susceptibility to breast cancer.
Dr. Tjoe earned her medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), which included a one-year fellowship in Anatomic Pathology and Cytology. After completing her general surgical training at the Medical College of Wisconsin, she returned to complete a fellowship in surgical breast oncology at the UCSF/Mount Zion Comprehensive Cancer Center. There she received advanced training in sentinel lymph node biopsy, magnetic resonance imaging of the breast, ductal lavage, ductoscopy, and oncoplastic reconstruction of the breast after partial mastectomy. Dr. Tjoe is credentialed in the placement of internal radiation therapy devices.
Dr. Tjoe was born in Indonesia and raised in Los Angeles. She also brings the art of medical illustration, which helps patients understand their disease through visual images. In her leisure time, Dr. Tjoe enjoys scuba diving, underwater photography, horseback riding, and triathlons.
