Laurie Gesell, MD, FACEP, UHM, serves as medical director of hyperbaric oxygen therapy and wound care at Aurora Medical Center in Summit. Dr. Gesell likes to care for the whole person, and uses state-of-the-art hyperbaric medicine and wound care technology to improve quality of life.
Dr. Gesell is fellowship trained in toxicology and hyperbaric medicine, and also specializes in emergency medicine. She is a leading expert in her field. Her expertise includes non-healing wounds, treating diabetic wounds, delayed radiation injuries, compromised skin grafts and flaps, carbon monoxide poisoning, intracranial abscesses, crush injuries, necrotizing soft tissue and bone infections, and scuba diving injuries. Also, she currently serves as president of the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society.
