"I am a board-certified general surgeon who specializes in performing laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures. My training as a general surgeon has provided me with expertise in the surgical treatment of a wide range of diseases and conditions."
My expertise includes performing laparoscopic and robotic-assisted bariatric (weight loss) surgery procedures, such as Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy, and adjustable gastric banding. I lead the bariatric surgery program at Aurora Medical Center in Summit, which is accredited as a Bariatric Comprehensive Center under the Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Accreditation and Quality Improvement Program, a joint program of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. I also specialize in the treatment of varicose veins using the most current therapies available.
I earned my medical degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio, Texas. I went on to complete my internship and residency in general surgery through the University of North Dakota. I also completed a mini-fellowship in advanced minimally invasive and bariatric surgery from the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio.
