Jeffrey Lauzon, MA, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist. He specializes in cardiac psychology services through the health psychology clinic at St. Luke's Medical Center. Dr. Lauzon works with closely with cardiac services such as Cardiac Rehabilitation and the Karen Yontz Women's Cardiac Awareness Center at St. Luke's Medical Center and the Aurora Women's Pavilion at West Allis Memorial Hospital. Dr. Lauzon takes a Bio-Psycho-Social approach with patients and their family members to overcome those issues that result from, or contribute to, an individual's illness. Often treatment involves motivating health behavior change, improved coping with illness, and overcoming barriers to ideal treatment regimen compliance. Dr. Lauzon strives to devote the time necessary with each patient to understand the myriad of factors affecting the whole individual, from their lifestyle, their coping and their social support network.
Dr. Lauzon received his M.A. in Counseling at West Virginia University in 1996 and his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the Illinois Institute of Technology in 2006. He has experience in clinical research, teaching and health education, as well as therapy. Throughout his clinical, academic and research career he has received training and experience at West Virginia University Ruby Memorial Hospital, Carnegie-Mellon University Health Services, Rush University Hospital, University of Chicago Hospital, The Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and Northwestern University Memorial Hospital. He completed his residency with Aurora Behavioral Health Services in behavioral medicine and his fellowship developing Cardiac Psychology Services at St. Luke's Hospital. Specialties include work with cardiac, MS, obesity, cancer patients and their families. He also works with bariatric surgery patients, patients and families suffering with chronic illness, health-related issues, stress, anxiety and depression. Dr. Lauzon works both at St. Luke's Hospital and the Aurora Women's Pavilion. In addition he is an Adjunct Professor in the graduate school of Counseling at Mt. Mary College.
