Jeffrey Lauzon, MA, PhD, is a licensed clinical psychologist. He specializes in cardiac psychology and practices under a bio-psycho-social model, recognizing the complex individualized interplay between biological variables/medical events, psychological factors, reactions and resilience with respect to social context that often impacts engagement with healthcare and health behavior.
Being dedicated to caring for patients in cardiology, Dr. Lauzon provides the following services and treatments: pre-surgical evaluations for mechanical circulatory support devices such as LVAD's and Heart Transplant, heart failure, post-surgical psychological reactions to medical events and traumatic medical experiences, acceptance and coping with losses associated with chronic illness, Electrophysiology/Implanted devices, cardiac rehabilitation, lifestyle health behavior change to improve personal control and increased management coping with illness, and service delivery in both the outpatient and inpatient settings via consultation-liaison service.
Dr. Lauzon received his Master of Arts in Counseling at West Virginia University and his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Illinois Institute of Technology. He completed his residency with Aurora Behavioral Health Services in behavioral medicine and his fellowship developing Cardiac Psychology Services at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center. He is certified by the Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing and the National Register of Health Services Psychologists.
Outside of work, Dr. Lauzon enjoys spending time with family, laughter, mountain hikes, shoreline strolls, sailing, reading and traveling.
