My goal is to be an advocate for my patients in helping them achieve their best health. To do this, I educate my patients about preventive health, and for those with chronic medical conditions, manage these conditions with our combined efforts. I also strive to build a doctor-patient relationship based on trust, mutual respect and open communication.

I am trained to manage chronic diseases such as: asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, gout, certain thyroid disorders, gastroesophageal reflex disease, polycystic ovary syndrome, migraines, depression, anxiety, ADHD and acne. I also treat acute illnesses that include: common colds, strep throat, upper respiratory infections, influenza, pneumonia, bronchitis, cellulitis and other skin infections, urinary tract infections and acute abdominal pain.

Procedures I perform include: IUD placement and simple removal, Nexplanon placement and simple removal, colposcopy, shave biopsy, punch biopsy, excisional biopsy, incision and drainage of abscesses, repair of simple lacerations, splinting, casting, knee and shoulder cortisone injections, major joint and bursa aspiration, newborn circumcision and dermoscopy.

My special interests are in preventive health and include childhood and adult immunizations, women's health (except for obstetrics) and common skin conditions.

I earned my medical degree from the University of the Philippines College of Medicine in Manila, Philippines. Board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine, I completed my residency in family medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford.

I am married and have a teenage daughter. I also have two dogs, a rescue Labrador mix named Albus and a pug named Chelsea. My family is picking up hiking as a hobby and we also enjoy cheering for our daughter on her track and field meets in the spring. Personally, I like going out for a walk or a hike with our dogs in leash-free dog parks, traveling, watching movies and shows on Netflix and Amazon Prime, and trying new restaurants in the area. I also enjoy watching Broadway productions and travel shows.
