I believe that a physician must function as a teacher and advocate for their patients. This relationship is key to helping patients achieve and maintain health and overall wellbeing.
I diagnose, treat and prevent the full spectrum of chronic and acute cardiovascular diseases and conditions. I provide angiography, angioplasty, atherectomy, stenting, cardiac catheterization, coronary angiography, direct thrombolytic therapy of pulmonary, peripheral arterial and venous embolism and thrombosis, visceral and carotid artery angiography, performance and interpretation of EKG, stress tests and echocardiography, management of myocardial infarction, decompensated heart failure, shock, stable ischemic heart disease, cardiomyopathy, heart failure and valvular heart disease. My areas of interest include treatment and prevention and management of coronary and peripheral vascular disease as well as invasive management of pulmonary and peripheral embolism and thrombosis.
I earned my medical degree at Midwestern University in Glendale, Arizona, and completed my Internal Medicine residency at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center in Ohio. I went on to complete fellowships in both Cardiovascular Diseases at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee and Interventional Cardiology at Wayne State University / Detroit Medical Center in Michigan. I am board certified in both Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases by the American Board of Internal Medicine. Additionally, I hold a Bachelors and Masters in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Iowa with research and academic focus in Cardiovascular Biomechanics.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling to and experiencing new places around the world as well as my own neighborhood. Health and fitness have always been important to me, as I've been a runner since high school where I competed in cross-country and track.
