FOND DU LAC, WIS. – The newly-expanded Aurora Medical Center – Fond du Lac, located at 210 Wisconsin American Drive, is scheduled to open its doors for patient care on Monday, May 6.
Construction on the 70,000-square foot addition to the existing site began in 2022 and is now in the final stages. Now 185,000 square feet, the addition will consist of an 8-bay emergency department, 10 overnight stay beds for patients needing orthopedic, general and abdominal surgeries, an operating and recovery area, pharmacy, diagnostics and lab. The space will comprise more than 65 clinicians representing 28 medical specialties including urgent care, physical therapy and outpatient surgery. This facility will create the right care for community members close to home.
“It’s important for high-quality health care to also be local,” said Jeff Bard, President of Aurora Medical Center – Fond du Lac, Aurora Medical Center – Oshkosh and North Wisconsin Area President for Aurora Health Care. “We recognize that many residents have been traveling for health care services and we want to ensure that we have convenient access to health care in this community.”
Patients who require acute sub-specialty care such as labor and delivery services, cardiac catheterization or interventional stroke treatment, will continue to receive care at the closest hospital including Aurora Medical Center – Oshkosh or other larger Aurora Health Care facilities.
On Thursday, April 25 from 4-7 p.m., the public is invited to tour the facility before the grand opening. Guests will enjoy facility tours, health and wellness activities, light refreshments and the chance to meet local doctors and connect as a community.
