Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center only hospital in Wisconsin to rank among best in nation for cardiology

Aurora St. Luke's is also named No. 1 hospital in Milwaukee metro and leads the state in cancer and rehabilitation specialties

MILWAUKEE, Aug. 7, 2026 — Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center continues to set the standard for cardiovascular care in Wisconsin, earning a Top 50 national ranking from U.S. News & World Report. At No. 38, it’s the only hospital in the state to earn this level of recognition for cardiology, heart and vascular surgery.

More broadly, Aurora Health Care hospitals earned widespread recognition in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospitals 2026-2027 rankings, underscoring the organization’s commitment to delivering exceptional clinical outcomes and high-quality care across Wisconsin.

For the fourth consecutive year, Aurora St. Luke's was named the No. 1 hospital in the Milwaukee metro area and No. 2 hospital in Wisconsin. The rankings include services provided at Aurora St. Luke's South Shore and Aurora Sinai Medical Center.

Meanwhile, Aurora Sinai ranked No. 29 nationally for Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Across Wisconsin, Aurora Health Care earned significant recognition for specialty care, receiving a combined 49 "high performing" ratings for procedures and conditions. U.S. News also recognized Aurora Medical Center – Grafton as a top hospital, earning spot No. 3 in the Milwaukee metro area and No. 5 in Wisconsin.

For the 2026-2027 rankings, U.S. News evaluated more than 4,400 hospitals nationwide across adult specialties, procedures and conditions. Hospitals recognized as “high performing” demonstrated clinical outcomes significantly better than the national average.
