William Owens, MD, began his surgical practice in 1991 in the Milwaukee area. Dr. Owens started as a general surgeon, but has focused exclusively on breast surgery since 2008. He has served as director of Aurora BayCare Medical Center's Comprehensive Breast Care Center in Green Bay since 2009, where he cares for patients with benign or cancerous diseases of the breast. Dr. Owens earned his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine in Madison. He completed his residency in General Surgery at the University of Rochester Medical Center in Rochester, New York. In 1990, he received the Walter A. Calihan, M.D., Outstanding Resident Award from Highland Hospital, also in Rochester.
Dr. Owens' interests include managing the care of patients who have a high risk of developing breast cancer. He also focuses on oncoplastic breast surgery, where techniques of removing breast cancers are combined with plastic surgery reconstruction. Dr. Owens works with medical and radiation oncologists at Aurora BayCare to provide a collaborative approach to the care of breast cancer patients.
Dr. Owens resides in Green Bay. He enjoys long distance running and spending time with his family.
