Milwaukee, Wis. – Aurora Health Care received the Supplier Diversity Award from Premier Inc., at the organization’s annual Breakthrough Awards event in Nashville. Premier is a leading health care improvement organization that works with more than 3,900 hospitals throughout the U.S.
Aurora’s supplier diversity program was recognized for establishing, as a part of the organization’s social responsibility initiatives, active programs to evaluate and support minority-, women-, LGBT- and veteran-owned enterprises, as well as small businesses.
Since its inception in 2015, Aurora’s supplier diversity program has grown nearly 44 percent, today accounting for more than $30 million in managed spend.
“This award reflects our continued focus of developing our underserved communities through economic inclusion,” said Dave Fergus, senior vice president of supply chain with Aurora Health Care. “To be recognized for our team’s efforts is a testament to their dedication and leadership.”
The Supplier Diversity Award was one of eight category of awards presented at the annual conference to health care organizations for their work to improve health care quality and costs.
Mount Sinai Health System in New York received an honorable mention in this category.
