Germantown, Wis. – Aurora Health Care today opened its new Aurora Germantown Health Center, a 76,000 square foot building featuring an ambulatory surgery center, as well as expanded and new services to the Germantown-area, including oncology and cardiology.
The center includes a new same-day surgery center with six full-service operating rooms, featuring state-of-the-art surgical technology. The ambulatory care surgery center is equipped with 24 recovery rooms for patients following surgery.
Aurora Cancer Care will also begin offering oncology services at the clinic, with 16 medical oncology infusion bays, six private exam rooms and a private infusion room. The oncology clinic will provide access to on-site clinical research trials for patients, and also offer integrative therapy options for patients, including Reiki and massage therapy.
The oncology clinic will also offer 3-D Mammography imaging for breast cancer patients, as well as a new Healing Garden, designed to provide a calming atmosphere for patients during treatment.
“The Aurora Germantown Health Center will bring both new and expanded services to residents throughout the area,” said Carrie Killoran, executive vice president of Aurora Health Care’s Central Region. “The new same-day ambulatory surgery center will bring much needed surgery offerings to patients, while our cancer care program will help patients continue to receive the care they need while staying close to home. This is an investment in the health of this community, and we’re thrilled for this day to be here.”
Expanded Services in Cardiology, Orthopedics and Women’s Health
The Aurora Health Center in Germantown will also offer expanded existing offerings to patients in the area, including cardiology, orthopedics, podiatry and women’s health services.
The expanded cardiology clinic will feature seven exam rooms and four testing rooms, including access to stress testing, tilt table studies and the latest in imaging technology.
The health center will also offer expanded orthopedic clinical services, including 21 exam rooms and two treatment rooms. Enhanced imaging technology including MRI and CT imaging capabilities, are also a part of the new facility.
An enhanced women’s health clinic will provide services to patients in the center, including 12 exam rooms and with ultrasound treatment rooms.
The two-story facility, located at W180 N11070 River Lane in Germantown, is a retrofit build of an existing administrative Aurora Health Care facility. Hammel, Green & Abrahamson Architects is the architectural firm on the new facility, and C.G. Schmidt is the local construction company.
It sits directly south of an existing Aurora Health Care facility, which will continue to operate and offer a family practice clinic, rehabilitation services and chiropractic care, as well as other clinical offerings.
Combined the two facilities will be staffed by more than 100 physicians and 70 registered nurses, as well as an additional 170 additional caregivers on a daily basis. The health center estimates serving approximately 325 patients daily and performing some 5,700 cases in its first year.
