When retired military officer Dr. Michael Kaske discovered he had cardiomyopathy, he also discovered that a traditional pacemaker wouldn’t work for him. As part of a clinical trial at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center, he became the third person in the U.S. to receive a new device to make his heart work properly.
