Diagnostic Sonography Program Curriculum

Curriculum Overview

The School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography course of study is designed to provide instruction in general, cardiac and vascular sonography. Our program offers two distinct learning tracks: General/Vascular and Cardiac/Vascular. Curriculum consists of both academic and clinical components, and is based on 21 months of full-time study.

The school prepares students for the challenging responsibilities of the profession while providing the opportunity to gain a working knowledge of the field. Students learn how to deal with the ever-increasing complexities of modern sonographic equipment and procedures while maintaining the best possible level of patient care.

As program graduates enter the workforce, their presence helps to meet the community’s need for qualified and competent sonographers.

General Vascular Track

The core curriculum defines several major modules of ultrasound education. All lectures are correlated with scan lab demonstration and practice for each organ system.

Courses include Abdominal Sonography, OB/GYN Sonography and Introduction to MSK, among others.
