When You Need Help, Put Your Trust in Us

Forensic nurses at Aurora Health Care are available any time of the day or night. In 2016, we provided services to more than 1,400 sexual assault survivors. Our expertise from treating a high volume of survivors helps us provide information, care and compassion when it is most needed.

Forensic Nursing Services That Help Sexual Assault Survivors Start Healing

Aurora Health Care’s forensic nurse experts provide medical care and so much more to survivors. Our in-depth understanding of the laws and justice system means you can count on us to help you navigate your legal options. Even if you do not wish to press charges, we lend a caring ear and help you take the first steps toward regaining your sense of wellness.

Highlights of forensic nursing services at Aurora include:

  • Expertise: All forensic nurses receive ongoing training in meeting the medical, legal and emotional needs of sexual assault survivors. Many of our nurses are also certified sexual assault nurse examiners. This recognition signifies our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of forensic nursing.
  • Leadership: We serve as a resource to the community when it comes to raising awareness for sexual assault survivors. From participating in local health fairs to leading provider training, we are actively involved in many community-wide efforts. Find out more about community involvement.
  • Convenience: We make it easy for you to get the care and support you need without traveling great distances. Forensic nurse experts are available around the clock at nine locations throughout eastern Wisconsin. Learn more about our locations.
  • Specialized technology: We make it possible for you to pursue your legal options by collecting as much evidence as possible. Signs of sexual abuse aren’t always visible at first, which is why we use special technology to help gather evidence. All of our forensic nursing locations have high-resolution cameras that use ultraviolet light to detect even the slightest signs of injury. Read more: Why get help?
  • Medical treatments: In addition to care for minor injuries, we offer emergency contraception when necessary to help prevent pregnancy.
