At Aurora, we use the Lumenis LightSheer® DUET Laser System, which is approved by the FDA for all skin types. You’ll be treated by a board-certified doctor or advanced practitioners trained in laser treatments. Our specialists perform hundreds of laser hair removal treatments every year.
Most people don’t find laser hair removal painful, though slight redness similar to sunburn is a common side effect. Your provider may trim the hair to be removed and apply a cooling gel or cooling device to your skin before treatment to prevent irritation.
Depending on the size of the area you’re having treated, the procedure can take anywhere from a few minutes to more than an hour. You’ll need multiple treatments to get the best results because lasers only work on follicles that are in the active growth phase, and not all follicles are active at the same time. Your provider can discuss how many treatments you’ll need and answer other questions during your consultation.
