Orthopedic Trauma

Immediate Orthopedic Trauma Care

If you or someone you know is experiencing a medical emergency, please call 9-1-1 immediately.

Orthopedic trauma is a severe injury to the bones, joints, muscles or connective tissue – sometimes accompanied by serious injuries to the brain, spinal cord or other organs.

Car accidents, work accidents and falls can all cause serious orthopedic trauma in the form of fractures – sometimes involving multiple bones. This type of trauma can require joint reconstruction surgery or the care of a spine specialist.

If you’ve experienced orthopedic trauma, we’ll take a multifaceted approach to your care. This approach often incorporates orthopedic medicine, orthopedic surgery and physical therapy as well as integrative care like chiropractic, acupuncture and massage.

Our orthopedic trauma surgeons also have specialized training in treating multiple areas of the body at the same time. They understand how to mend complex injuries so you can heal quickly and focus on the things you enjoy most about life.

What’s more, Aurora Summit is southeastern Wisconsin’s only Level II trauma care facility. This distinction means Aurora Summit has the resources, including on-site orthopedic surgeons, to handle trauma situations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
