What you need to know about online doctor visits
Our online virtual care providers are just a tap away from helping you feel better.
If you’re too sick to leave the house or have a busy schedule, you can get a diagnosis and treatment plan from just about anywhere with a telehealth visit.
You might be wondering: Who are the Aurora Health Care providers on the other side of the camera or computer and how can they help me? Here’s a look at what virtual care is all about and what services our providers offer.
You can get care for minor illnesses with your virtual primary care provider, in-person provider online or with our next available telehealth provider online.
With virtual primary care, you can schedule a video visit with a new, dedicated virtual provider easily online – when and where it works for you. Virtual primary care providers are board-certified family medicine providers and can diagnose and treat many of the same symptoms and conditions that in-person providers can – see a full list of services offered. Appointments are offered 7 days a week, with extended hours and same-day availability. To get started, find your dedicated virtual primary care doctor and schedule your first appointment.
If you need urgent care 24/7, consider a Quick Care Video Visit with the next available telehealth provider on our team. This type of virtual visit is an option for the types of conditions and symptoms you might usually visit an urgent care center for – everything from anxiety and depression to cold and flu symptoms and more. See the list of conditions and symptoms we diagnose and treat with Quick Care Video Visits. To get started, sign in to LiveWell to meet with the next available virtual care provider.
And if you’re unsure which virtual visit is right for you, you can use Symptom Checker to help you find care based on your symptoms. Your options may include an e-visit, where you’ll fill out a questionnaire and get an email response from the next available provider within an hour. You can also submit your e-visit to your own virtual primary care or in-person provider, who will respond within 24 hours.
An online doctor visit with your own provider is an option during office hours. You can call your doctor’s office and ask if a video visit is appropriate for your condition or the symptoms you’re experiencing.
When you schedule a virtual primary care appointment, you’ll see your virtual primary care provider during your video visit. If you need a same-day appointment and your virtual provider isn’t available, you can schedule an appointment with another virtual primary care provider.
During an online doctor visit with your in-person provider, you’ll be treated by your provider or other members of your care team. Be sure to call your provider’s office first and schedule a virtual appointment. If you’re offered an e-visit after using Symptom Checker, you also have the option to submit it to your own virtual primary care or in-person provider, who will respond within 24 hours.
For 24/7 urgent care, the next available telehealth provider on our team will diagnose and treat you when you request a Quick Care Video Visit or choose to complete an e-visit after using Symptom Checker.
Yes, they’ll be able to access your medical history right from your LiveWell account.
Whether you’re seeing an online doctor or a virtual care provider, you’ll need to answer a lot of questions about your symptoms. This will help the provider better understand your symptoms and health concerns so they can make a diagnosis and treatment plan that’s right for you.
If you think of something after your 24/7 urgent care virtual visit, you can call 844-284-0381 and ask to speak with a virtual health nurse. If you submitted a e-visit to your virtual primary care provider, send a message in LiveWell. If you submitted to your in-person provider, call their office to speak with your care team.
