How do virtual pediatric urgent care visits work?

Learn how our urgent care video visits work in three easy steps.

Request a visit

Go to LiveWell and request an urgent care video visit. Note for kids between the ages of 12-17 years old, you must use their proxy account when requesting a visit.

Complete PreCheck-In

Next, answer a few questions about your child’s condition. Then you'll wait your turn – typically very brief – in our virtual waiting room to meet with the next available pediatric provider.

Start your visit

Once the provider joins, begin the visit with you and your child on camera. When done, select Leave Meeting. To see the provider’s notes, choose View After Visit Summary from the menu.

Common questions about virtual urgent care for kids

You can request an urgent care video visit for kids ages 2-17 if you're their legally authorized representative. For minors between the ages of 12-17, you must use their proxy account. Learn more about proxy/dependent care.

Because there’s no physical exam, be ready to answer plenty of questions about your child’s condition. If your child is old enough, the provider will also want to hear directly from them to better understand their symptoms. This helps the provider make the right diagnosis and create a treatment plan to help your child feel better. You’ll also want to make sure your child is visible during the visit.

While most conditions can be treated virtually, your child might need to come in for follow-up care – like a strep test or other lab tests – coordinated by your virtual provider at no additional visit fee. We can also call in any prescriptions your child may need.

To request an urgent care video visit for your child, you’ll need to be physically located in Illinois or Wisconsin.
